Who We Are

Regina Malayalee

Association Inc.

Regina Malayalee Association Inc. is a Non-Profit Organization formed to enrich and preserve the cultural values of the people from Kerala, India settled in Southern Saskatchewan.

The organization continues to support over 500 families through social, educational, recreational initiatives and community involvement. Officially registered as a non-profit in 2015.

We are evolving as a major community which upholds cultural and social values that form our roots, while warmly embracing Saskatchewanian values and building a vibrant multicultural future.

“We have grown from 5 families in 2007 to a community with around 500 families — approximately 2000+ people living in Regina.”

Our Community Journey

Our Story

A Christmas Gathering That Started It All

In 2007, Fr. Jose Thomas Periyakattil, the assistant parish priest at “Christ The King Church”, invited five Malayalee families to celebrate Christmas together. That simple, warm gathering planted the seed of what would become the Regina Malayalee Association.

With the rising number of Malayalee families making Regina their home, the association continued to evolve — organizing social, cultural, and recreational events that brought people together and kept Kerala’s rich traditions alive thousands of kilometres from home.

Officially incorporated as a non-profit in 2015, RMA today serves over 2000 people — a thriving community that celebrates its roots while embracing the warmth of Saskatchewan.
